Knowledge is dangerous

Knowledge is dangerous
by Noctulius Balik

The picture of the world as
presented by the white Abrahamic religions is simplistic beyond belief and
therefore absurd. A big white all-powerful god creates the universe but despite
his all-knowing all powerfulness finds himself with a creation that is
disobedient to him and that he hates. So he has to continually SMITE it and
torture it and destroy it. He then mutates from the civilisation-smashing
Yahweh into the meek prophet of Galilee who dispenses the message that if we
are all good children we will go to heaven.

The big white god in his various
shapeshifting forms is clearly someone who does not want to get Found Out.
Mankind is given the ‘truth’ in books that
must not be questioned. Or else. And that is that. Follow the book. Do not
question.

Carelessly, god upon creating
Eden goes and puts that bothersome apple into the garden (would you Adam and
Eve it that it did not occur to him that this was asking for trouble?) And then
Satan turns up (this being the starting point for Satanism)… and provides man
and woman with the gift of knowledge and of self understanding.

Man and woman receive
punishment for their gaining of knowledge by being expelled from paradise. It
is Satan who provides them with the gift of self knowledge. And he places them
in a situation where they have to be self reliant, all the while a vengeful
Yahweh is hovering around the place, smiting here and there.

And here is one of the central
truths about our existence. Reversal or paradox. The white religions make out
they bring light and heaven when in reality they bring ignorance and slavery
and oppression. They are therefore evil. Satan is the evil one according to
these white religions, but in fact is ‘good’, in that he frees mankind into his
true state as a seeker of knowledge, of deciding things for himself.

And more paradox follows. The
seeking of knowledge and of self determination is not the sheltered route of a
white religion. It is a dangerous and difficult path, because gaining true
knowledge means gaining experience, and everything brings risk. But deep in
people’s hearts is the hunger to challenge themselves, that this is the only
way to get real satisfaction in life.

Knowledge though is a
dangerous game. You find out about the universe and you discover it to be
pretty scary; you find out about yourself and you find that too is pretty
scary. Knowledge is frightening. Ignorance is bliss.

But always the reversals. If I
wonder who my main enemy is, I only have to look in the mirror, as people are
as bent on destroying themselves and they are on fulfilling themselves. Lovers
turn into
enemies. Enemies turn into
friends. The means of my happiness is the means of my destruction.

And for all the people in the
world, all the family and friends, in the end you are on your own Buster. We
might like to think that we are in community and it is true that we can gain a
lot of support and love from communities we relate to. Friendship and love are
precious. But at the end of the day a Satanist realises that he or she have to
walk a difficult path of self realisation, of self empowerment, because it is
the best way of hanging on in there and making something of this. And that I
think is at the heart of the Satanic spirit. And Satan is there to guide us.
And at least in Satanism we put armour on as opposed to taking it off.

What is Theistic Satanism? A personal introduction

My own take on Theistic Satanism by Noctulius Balik

Theistic Satanism or spiritual Satanism is a form of Satanism with the belief that Satan is an actual deity or force to revere or worship. Though many Satanists do not believe that Satan or Lucifer should be worshipped- they take the view that Satan is a powerful force of some kind that makes us stronger, is one with those who follow him, and who makes us liberated and free from fear, unlike the white religions that fill people with a whole load of fears and ‘no you can’t’. Therefore Satan does not wish to be worshipped; he wishes man and woman to worship themselves, to be their own gods, confidently doing what they like in their lives without fear or guilt.

The Satanist says ‘yes I can’ as opposed to ‘no I can’t’; he or she follows a path of self confidence and self determination, avoiding what makes people oppressed and weak. The Satanist is an enemy of white religions, particularly the Abrahamic ones with their numerous condemnations of this and that.

One simple example for now: take homosexuality. It is a natural and genetic human condition; the white religions condemn it; they hound and imprison and murder gay people. They tell them they are inferior, they mock them and therefore drain many of them of their self confidence and their strength.

But the Satanist would say, people can do what they like sexually so long as it is agreed by both parties. It is none of our business.

So – you do what you want. And a key principle of Satanism for me is that Satanism is what I decide it is. I really enjoy listening to and understanding other takes on Satanism, and that can influence me, but the heart of the matter for me is that I decide for myself what I do with Satanism.

At the end of the day, the form of Satanism that one wishes to adopt is up to you; you should do whatever works for you. But an open mind is also a good thing, not least because it is the reverse of the closed mindset of the Abrahamic religions. Argument and debate are always good. Life is full of possibility and change, not least because we ourselves are constantly changing. Who knows who we might be tomorrow?

But the important thing is that tomorrow we are free to be whatever we wish; Satanists do not allow other people to decide that for them, thank you very much.
